Nothing Was Beautiful, and Everything Hurt

At least, that seems to have been the attitude held by Kurt Vonnegut in his final days.  In this interesting, if brief, review of the “first major biography” of one of the most influential authors of the twentieth century, we get hints of just how bitter and depressed he could be.

How sad, that a man like that could consider himself a failure.
